Histadrut welcomes Gaza aid entry, urges hostage release and political resolution

May 26, 2025

The Histadrut welcomes the renewed entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. It is vital that food, medical supplies, and other essential goods reach the civilian population without delay.

At the same time, the Histadrut calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all 58 hostages still held by Hamas. Their continued captivity lies at the heart of the ongoing humanitarian crisis and must be resolved without delay.

We believe the current situation requires urgent action: securing the release of the hostages, achieving a ceasefire, reducing harm to civilians on all sides, and creating space for meaningful diplomatic progress.

The Histadrut supports a return to direct negotiations, led by responsible leadership and backed by international partners, to reach a sustainable political solution that excludes Hamas.

We reaffirm our commitment to a two-state solution, which we regard as the most realistic and just path to a future of security, peace, and dignity for both Israelis and Palestinians.

As a national trade union grounded in solidarity and social responsibility, the Histadrut will continue to support efforts that protect lives, encourage dialogue, and promote a future based on mutual recognition and peaceful coexistence..
