No one left alone: Histadrut re-launch of 7,000 NIS grant for evacuated members

The Histadrut once again stepped in as first responders for our members displaced by Iranian attacks. We are providing a 7,000 NIS grant through a fast, bureaucracy‑free mechanism designed to offer immediate clarity, protection, and solidarity for workers and families facing sudden evacuation and loss.

The Histadrut has once again activated its emergency safety net for workers forced from their homes due to missile strikes and unmanned aerial vehicle attacks, reaffirming a policy first launched during the Iran–Israel war in June 2025. A dedicated compensation mechanism will provide a 7,000 NIS grant for members displaced during Operation “Lion’s Roar”.

The mechanism ensures a rapid-response model for protecting the civilian workforce during national emergencies. The grant will apply retroactively from 28 February 2026, and is available to Histadrut members of at least two years’ standing who can present an official evacuation order from the Home Front Command or their local authority. Applications can be submitted directly, without bureaucratic hurdles, through the Histadrut hotline.

“In these difficult days, as the Israeli home front faces a complex reality, the Histadrut stands by its members and all citizens,” said Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar‑David. “We will not leave anyone alone.”

Histadrut Director General Dudu Bezalel emphasised the need for speed and clarity in times of uncertainty, echoing the union’s position during the 2025 attacks.

“The Histadrut is acting quickly and decisively to provide immediate support for those affected,” he said. “We will continue evaluating and assisting in order to ease the burden on members, their families, and all Israelis.”

The Histadrut’s repeated implementation of a streamlined emergency compensation system reflects the need for a bureaucracy‑free, best‑practice support model. In moments of crisis, solidarity is not only a principle but a practical tool, guiding our ability to act as first responders and step in immediately to meet urgent needs.
