The Histadrut expresses its deep concern following the disgraceful and inflammatory video published today by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir following the detention of flotilla activists.

Date:

At a time of immense national sensitivity, when Israel faces unprecedented diplomatic, security, and social challenges, public officials bear a responsibility to lower tensions, not inflame them for political gain. Mockery, humiliation, and incitement are unworthy of state leadership and damage Israel’s standing in the eyes of the world, and do nothing to contribute to Israel’s security.

The State of Israel is strong enough to enforce its laws, respect human rights, and protect its security without descending into cynical provocations and degrading political theater. The behavior displayed in the video does not represent the values of solidarity, responsibility, and human dignity upon which Israeli society must stand.

The Histadrut calls on all elected officials to act responsibly, preserve the dignity of state institutions, and refrain from exploiting sensitive events and the upcoming elections for narrow political interests.
