From Waste Management to Workers’ Rights: Gadot Employees Unionize with Histadrut
Dozens of employees at Gadot Ecological Services have unionized with the Histadrut in a step aimed at improving employment conditions and strengthening workplace rights. The next steps towards a collective agreement are already in motion as the Histadrut formally approached the company’s management, requesting to open dialogue toward the establishment of a workers’ committee and the negotiation of a collective agreement.
The unionization process, finalized on Tuesday, reflects Gadot employees’ determination to safeguard their employment terms and ensure fair working conditions.

Gadot Ecological Services employs approximately 40 workers. It was founded in 1992 and specializes in the treatment and disposal of industrial waste. The company provides a wide range of services including hazardous waste management, recycling of empty containers, advanced washing technologies for packaging and tanks, shredding and crushing of solid and liquid waste, and full-scale waste management solutions.
Following the successful organizing effort, Stinger addressed the company’s management in an official letter, confirming the Histadrut as the employees’ representative organization and calling for immediate dialogue to begin negotiations for a collective agreement.
The workers’ action committee at Gadot Ecological Services also expressed optimism for the future steps in securing better working conditions:
“We are happy to join the Histadrut, we feel we are in good hands, and we look forward to positive negotiations with our employer to improve our conditions. We thank the Histadrut representatives for their patient and professional guidance throughout this process.”
The unionization of Gadot Ecological Services is another meaningful step in strengthening the Histadrut’s mission to safeguard workers across all sectors of the Israeli economy. Especially in industries that handle vital yet often challenging work, such as hazardous waste management, the collective power of the union is crucial for the voice of workers’ rights to be heard and respected. We are excited to work to secure better conditions for the Gadot Ecological Services employees, and we also see this step as a success that reinforces the collective power of organized labor in Israel, ensuring dignity, security, and fairness for all.
