Histadrut and the Ministry of Finance convened a meeting in Jerusalem and decided to establish joint teams to negotiate a new framework agreement and wage agreements.

Today (Monday), a working meeting between the Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David and the Director-General of the Ministry of Finance Ram Belnikov, Commissioner for Wages at the Ministry of Finance Kobi Bar Natan, and the head of the budget department, Yogev Gordos. The meeting, which took place today in Jerusalem, was also attended by the Histadrut’s Acting Chairman Roi Yaakov and the Histadrut’s Deputy Director-General of Policy and Economics, Adam Blumenberg. 

Arnon Bar-David: “I believe that together we will find the framework that will improve the status of the working person and contribute to growth in the economy.”
Ram Blnikov: “We recognize the importance of working together with the Histadrut.” 

At the meeting, the Histadrut and the Ministry of Finance decided to establish negotiating teams on the framework agreement and wage agreements in the public sector, which will enter into force on January 1, 2023. The parties discussed the importance of the new framework agreement, along with the many challenges for the labor market and the public sector. The teams will meet for talks in the coming days. 

Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David: “The Histadrut sees continued value in cooperating for the benefit of the economy, but at the same time – the current reality of increasing the cost of living, rising prices and rising inflation can not be ignored. Therefore, action must be taken to improve workers’ wages and promote measures that will be useful for this essential purpose. I believe that together we will find the framework that will improve the status of the working man and woman and contribute to the growth of the economy. 

Ministry of Finance Director General Ram Blinkov: “We recognize the importance of working in cooperation with the Histadrut to improve and streamline the public sector in Israel. In this framework, the working teams on behalf of the Ministry of Finance and the Histadrut will begin, in the coming days, to formulate an up-to-date and modern framework agreement for public sector workers for the years 2023 onwards, which will work to improve the service provided to the public in Israel significantly. “
