Salary agreement for employees of the National Road Safety Authority

According to the agreement, which will be in effect until the end of 2023, dozens of employees will benefit from an average increase of 4% to their salary, which will also increase the provisions for pension savings and the continuing education fund. The Israel Union of Government Employees (IUGE) and the National Road Safety Authority signed a wage agreement for dozens of the authority’s employees, which includes an average increase of 4%. The agreement is valid until the end of 2023.

The National Road Safety Authority is a statutory corporation whose employees have been unionized in the Histadrut since 2010. The authority is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the whole range of actions in the government offices designed to increase road safety and reduce accidents on Israel’s roads.

According to the updated wage agreement, for 2021, an average increase of NIS 400 per month per employee will be paid; in 2022, an average of NIS 150 more will be added per employee. The salary Authority’s employees are differential and determined according to actual performance, with the increase expected to increase the provisions for pension savings and the training fund for the employees.

The agreement was signed by Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David, IUGE Ariel Jacobi, IUGE Acting Chairman Doron Karni, and the Workers’ committee Chairwoman Tal Almog Rotman. From the management side: VP Finance and Human Resources Yuval Friedman.

Acting Chairman of the IUGE, Doron Karni: “I am happy that during this challenging period in terms of labor relations in the public sector, we were able to reach agreements with the National Road Safety Authority and the Ministry of Finance, thereby bringing about wage increases for the employees. We will continue to act on behalf of the National Road Safety Authority workers to achieve additional accomplishments in the next agreement we will sign.”

The chairwoman of the workers’ committee, Tal Almog Rotman: “The agreement is an expression of great appreciation for the National Road Safety Authority workers, who work day and night to reduce as much as possible the number of victims in traffic accidents. On the agenda of the workers’ committee are additional goals that we will try to realize in the next agreement.”
