Labor and Business Leaders Warn Against Inaction, Vow to Take Action if Reforms Not Addressed
In a significant meeting at Jerusalem’s residence, President Issac Herzog sat down with Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David and the President of the Presidium of Israel Business Organizations, Dubi Amitai. The leaders expressed grave concern for the peace of Israeli society and the damage to the Israeli economy following the proposed reforms that are currently in the works.
During the meeting, the two leaders extended their full support to the institution of the Presidency and the emerging President’s outline to bridge the differences due to the recent unrest in society. In a joint statement, Bar-David and Amitai called on all members of the Knesset, regardless of political affiliation, to put an end to the madness afflicting Israeli society and to show responsibility and leadership for the future of their country.
Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, the two leaders warned that if a compromise is not found according to the President’s outline, they will not sit on the sidelines.
