The agreement was signed following the sale of the company to the Fimi Fund, ensuring the rights of the 400 employees. As part of the arrangement, the employees will benefit from a sales grant, and NIS 10 million will be allocated to various welfare activities. Rami Guetta Barach, Chairman of the Histadrut Ashkelon Region: “The Histadrut, Elbit (the outgoing owners), the Fimi Foundation (the new owners), and the workers’ committee representatives signed an agreement for the workers of the Ashot Ashkelon factory. This is in the shadow of the sale deal of the defense enterprise that employs about 400 workers.”

The agreement ensures that all employees’ rights would be preserved following the transfer of control from Elbit to the Fimi Fund. In addition, the employees’ contribution to the company’s profitability was also recognized, and as a result, the workers will enjoy a special sales grant.

The agreement determines that NIS 10 million will be allocated for various welfare activities to benefit the employees. In addition, this agreement ends the labor dispute declared in the factory in light of the attempt to transfer control of Ashot without the workers’ participation. During the dispute, the workers demonstrated and shut down production lines until the management agreed to negotiate.

As part of the signing, the parties met from Elbit, the Fimi Fund, the management of Eshet, the Histadrut, and the workers. They agreed to continue working together to promote and develop the company and increase its activity in Israel and worldwide markets.

The chairman of the Ashkelon region in the Histadrut, Rami Guetta, thanked the parties and said: “The negotiations were complex, but in the end, we brought a great message to the company’s employees for a better future. I am confident that Ashot will continue to thrive and expand its operations under the new management.”

Ashot Ashkelon has been developing, manufacturing, and marketing parts and spare parts in the military field for many years, including armored vehicles. Ashot is also active in the civilian domain and manufactures and markets relays, propulsion systems for aircraft and engines, SUVs, and even construction equipment.
