Leaders of the Israeli economy convene emergency meeting at the Histadrut

Mar 26, 2025

A short time ago, Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David concluded a meeting with leaders from across the Israeli economy. At the end of the discussion, the following joint statement was released:

“If the government refuses to comply with the Supreme Court, it will mark the end of Israeli democracy. This is a red line that cannot be crossed. Among the many concerns we face, a constitutional crisis would deal a fatal blow to Israel’s economy, undermine the core values on which the state was founded, and push us toward dictatorship. We cannot allow everything we’ve built to be destroyed.

We call on all citizens of Israel—right and left alike—to remember that we are one people. Each of us has a responsibility to help find a common path that secures the future of a strong, Jewish, democratic, and law-abiding State of Israel.”

The emergency meeting, convened in the Histadrut Headquarters, was initiated by the Histadrut Chairman and brought together leaders from the business and financial sectors, the healthcare system, and the high-tech industry. Participants agreed to continue coordinating efforts among the country’s key economic leaders.
