Histadrut Secures Two-Year Tax Credit Extension for Night Shift Industrial Workers
In a landmark decision that underscores its commitment to protecting workers’ rights, the Histadrut demand was approved by the Knesset’s Finance Committee, and the extension of the 15% tax credit for night shift workers in the industrial sector will be renewed. This extension, initially set for one year, has been prolonged for an additional two years, providing much-needed economic stability for these essential employees.
The tax credit is designed to incentivize night shift work and boost industrial productivity. The Histadrut’s persistent advocacy was critical in re-securing this benefit.
Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David expressed his satisfaction with the decision, stating, “We will continue to work tirelessly to protect workers across all sectors and ensure fair compensation for their labor.”
The extension of the night shift tax credit not only benefits workers but also supports the industrial sector’s growth, contributing to the nation’s economic resilience. The Histadrut remains committed to advocating for policies that uphold the welfare and rights of all workers in Israel.
