Histadrut completed preparations for widespread activities tomorrow

Hundreds of workers and members of the Histadrut, activists, people from regional districts, and the Histadrut youth movement will visit shopping centers all over Israel, distribute informational materials and assist consumers in assembling a basket of cheap and accessible products. In addition, the chairman of the Histadrut will convene this week with dozens of heads of large workers’ committees to plan the next steps. Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David: “We will continue the struggle until the companies in the economy realize that the celebration is over and stop harassing consumers.”

The professional teams in the Histadrut have completed preparations for nationwide activities starting tomorrow as part of the continuation of the struggle against the rising cost of living. Starting tomorrow, hundreds of employees and members of the Histadrut, activists, people from districts, and the HaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed Youth Movement will visit shopping centers all over Israel and distribute promotional materials, shirts, and food bags and help consumers in assembling a basket of discounted and accessible products. In the coming days, Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David will convene the action teams explicitly established to combat the rising cost of living, as well as dozens of heads of large committees in the economy to plan the next steps.
The Histadrut welcomes the announcements of supermarket chains Shufersal and Victory, that they will not give in to the demands of Diplomat, the food importer, to raise the prices of their products in the near future.

At the same time, the Histadrut campaign continues all over the country, which includes the deployment of billboards, the distribution of promotional materials, and press advertisements. Over two million drivers have been exposed to the campaign through the Waze Navigation application. The Histadrut continues to receive more requests to join the struggle.
More protest rallies are planned in front of industry executives and business leaders in the coming days.

Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David: “Our struggle is long, it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and it will continue until the companies in the economy realize that the celebration is over and stop harassing consumers. The time has come to restore sanity to the country and the economy. I am again clarifying to the government that if there are no active steps and actions on the matter, I will assemble the Histadrut institutions in early September with the aim of declaring a labor dispute in the economy.”
