Hundreds of protesters, including citizens, workers, and pensioners, showed up at the intersection on Independence Road and shouted, “Enough! We’ve taken to the streets. We must raise the wages.” The demonstration continues the national wave of protests led by the Histadrut against the rising cost of living. In addition, marches and rallies took place in Haifa, Ashdod, Ramla, and Ashkelon, calling on the incoming government to adopt the Histadrut’s plan to address the cost of living and to implement an emergency plan to reduce costs. The representatives of the Histadrut accompanied the demonstrators held signs that read, among other things, “Enough! The minimum wage is not enough for a minimal existence”, “Enough! We are tired of paying the price”, and “Enough! We must take care of raising the old age pension”.

Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David: “Across the political spectrum, from right to left, we continue to take to the streets, religious and secular, workers and pensioners. We demand that the new government acts to reduce the cost of living immediately. We will act until we see a real engagement of the decision-makers and solutions that will remove the economic sword raised against Israeli society.”
