According to the agreement, the convalescence allowance for employees will be updated to NIS 400 per day, compared with NIS 378 for the entire economy today, an increase that can reach NIS 220 per employee. In an appeal to the Director of Labor Relations in the Ministry of Economy, the parties seek a government extension order to the agreement to the entire economy so that it will apply to all employees and employers. Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David: “We will continue to work together to strengthen every worker in the economy.”

The Histadrut and the Presidency of the Business Sector in Israel have signed a general collective agreement, according to which the convalescence allowance for employees in the private sector will be updated to NIS 400 per day, compared with NIS 378 for the entire economy today. This increase can reach up to NIS 220 per employee, with between 2 and 3 million workers in the economy likely to benefit from the rise.

In an appeal to the Director of Labor Relations, Adv. Rivka Werbner, the parties, request that the Minister of Economy and Industry, Orna Barbibai, expand the agreement in an extension order so that it applies to all workers and employers in the economy, in light of the sharp rise in the national inflation.

The appeal also states that since this is a regular periodic update that takes place once a year and is based on an agreed mechanism according to which the convalescence allowance is updated in accordance with the change in the consumer price index, the recently announced election period does not delay or prevent the extension of the agreement.

Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David: “I welcome the agreement and call on the Minister of Economy to sign the order soon to extend it to all workers and employers. I truly thank Dubi for the cooperation. We will work together, especially during this period, on a series of issues to strengthen vulnerable populations and the person working in the economy. “

Chairman of the Presidency of the Business Sector Dubi Amitai: “In the current economic reality, in light of the fabric of collective labor relations in Israel, the expansion of the collective agreement that updates the convalescence allowance rate means certainty and stability among all of the employers.”
